Gaziantep University, Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish Language Education commenced its educational activities in the 2003–2004 academic year with 42 students and, as of the 2023–2024 academic year, has reached a total enrollment of 380 students. Within our department, there are 11 academic staff members in total, including 4 Professors, 4 Associate Professors and 3 Assistant Professors.
The primary aim of our department is to train well-qualified Turkish language teachers, and we offer an undergraduate program consisting of eight academic semesters to achieve this goal. In addition, graduate programs affiliated with the Institute of Educational Sciences have been offered since the Spring Semester of the 2013–2014 academic year, including both thesis and non-thesis (evening education) master’s programs, followed by the launch of a doctoral program in the Fall Semester of the 2020–2021 academic year.
